Winnie’s father was stopped to work suddenly and hence loosing his job. Because of this Winnie almost missed to sit his s.4 leaving exams. She was assisted by the Director and another teacher to sit.

She could not afford dues for A’ Level. So she remained home as her friends joined A’ Level. 

Winnie had then joined hair dressing industry from where she was picked and now happily studying and doing well. She gives thanks to God.

 

Mariam’s Dad died when she was 9 years old. All along she had been staying with her Auntie who is a peasant because her mother was chased out of the house by the relatives after the father’s death. Mariam had been so irregular in class due to lack of school fees. In S3, the auntie fell sick and she had to drop out of school because there was nobody to get her school dues.

It was then that the Director identified her and paid her dues for the w whole ‘O’ level.

In A’ Level ,she does some domestic work like mopping and sweeping offices for her school fees .She still needs support for scholastic materials, guidance and petty money for her   studies.  Subjects offered: History, Economics, Divinity and Luganda Dream: To become a lawyer

Sarah and Lameck are cousins. They had been staying with their auntie in Namuyenje who is a cook in St John’s S.S Mukono. After doing their S4; she could not afford their school fees anymore.

Sarah then joined hair dressing industry to earn a living while Lameck had started brick making in Kame Mukono.

The Director called Lameck to rejoin school in second term of S.5 while Sarah is to join next year (2009) in S.5. They are both willing and happy to study

Kellen is a sister to Kenneth their parents died when they were still young at the age of 12 and 10 respectively due to HIV/AIDS. They have a younger sister in S1 in a different school. They remained in the house 3 and could always look for food, transport to school, clothing, e.t.c by themselves.

Kellen’s auntie could help her with some school fees but on irregular basis. As an elder in the family she had to give counseling and advice to her siblings.
